The Team
Hachette Boardgames UK is based in London. However, the 7 team members live all across the country, in Exeter, the Midlands, Yorkshire and even Scotland! With different degrees of industry experience, everyone on the team identifies as gamers and also have other nerdy pastimes. Without further ado, meet our team!
Flavien
Flavien, or Flav if you don't want to try pronouncing it! I am the CEO of the company. I started Hachette Boardgames UK in 2021 to share my love of games and the social connections they create. My main pleasure in life is to see the spark of pure excitement in someone’s eyes when they discover all they can do mid-game while playing Quoridor 🙂 Apart from that, I am a big fan of Comics/Manga/Bande Dessinée and Lego!
JM
I’m the Head of Sales at Hachette Boardgames UK, which basically means I get to spend my days talking about brilliant games and convincing people they absolutely need them in their lives. When I’m off the clock, you’ll probably find me at a games table trying to outwit friends, watching or playing any sport I can get involved in, or being bossed around by my dachshund, Alfie, who is entirely convinced he runs the household (and honestly… he might). I am determined to teach my three adorable children the love for games and sports, and I even test many of our upcoming releases with my eldest. I love games, competition, good company, and anything that mixes the three.
Christoph
Based near Exeter, I’m the team’s southernmost member and a regular face at local events like GridCon—so please come say hello! I’ve been working in the industry since 2006, drawing on a childhood spent playing German classics like Scotland Yard, Auf Achse and Um Reifenbreite. Day-to-day, I look after our online retail partners, solving IT puzzles and managing our global import deliveries.
Adam
My name is Adam, and I am part of the sales team here at Hachette Boardgames UK. I have worked in independent retail for the past 20 years, and I now look after all the amazing friendly local game stores throughout the UK and Ireland.
I am a big fan of miniature games, with Warmachine and Marvel Crisis Protocol being the 2 games that I have played the most over the last 20+ years. When it comes to board games, I enjoy many genres of games, but mid-weight euro games might just be my favourite. Terraforming Mars, Shackleton Base, Great Western Trail, The West Kingdom Trilogy, Lorenzo Il Magnifico, all being games that have hit the gaming table loads. As everyone knows, you cannot enjoy EVERY game, and social deduction and hidden traitor games are not my cup of tea!
Corina
I am Corina, and as any self-respecting Marketing professional, I spend most of my time talking about how amazing our games are and taking pictures of them! I am the overly enthusiastic person posting and replying on socials, whilst trying to make time to play all the games. I have two adorable cats, I love Star Wars, Lego, crafts and iced coffee. I primarily play games with my partner, so I am always up for recommendations for excellent two-player or cooperative games. If you see me at a show, don’t hesitate to come up and say hi! I love putting faces to online account names.
Nicky
Hi, I am Nicky, and I work mainly in New Accounts on a part-time basis at Hachette. I have worked in the board game world for around 7 years and have edited and translated over 30 board games. I've just moved to Birmingham where I am determined to teach everyone my favourite Hachette games, Space Lab. Flow and Canal Houses, to local board game groups!
Lee
Hey guys, I'm Lee, the guy whose accent no one can ever place. I've been into board gaming since I was a kid and lean heavily towards deck builders and coop games.
As for what I do here, I'm a Jack of all trades and wear many hats.
Primarily Logistics & Events manager, ensuring that all your lovely orders go out on time, as well as where & when we're going to be throughout the year at all the fantastic events across the UK! I also coordinate all our finances, spare parts and general contact aspects of the company.
